Money Matters: Children and Wealth

Consider the old adage “shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations.” According to one well-known study on intergenerational wealth transfer, as much as 90% of the core wealth can be gone by the time grandchildren make it to retirement.

Another 20-year study of 3,200 high-net-worth families found that 70 percent of families failed to successfully transfer assets from one generation to the next. It wasn’t complex legal and finance rules around estates that caused many of the problems, but instead family dynamics, lack of trust and poor communication.

Join us on October 21st for a webinar with Jeanne Sun as she shares insights on:

  • Common challenges faced by families in retaining wealth across generations
  • Components of family governance to enhance communication and long-term decision making
  • Effective practices of families around the world that have generated and continue to steward significant wealth among younger family members
