Gerry W. Beyer is the Governor Preston E. Smith Regents Professor of Law at Texas Tech University School of Law and a nationally recognized authority in estate planning, wills, and trusts. He joined the Texas Tech faculty in 2005 as the inaugural holder of this prestigious professorship and has built a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in legal education and practice.

Professor Beyer is a prolific author, having written more than 25 books and numerous articles on estate planning and related topics, with his work widely used by both practitioners and law students. He is also a frequent lecturer, delivering continuing education programs across the country, and is known for translating complex legal concepts into practical guidance.

A respected leader in the field, Professor Beyer was inducted into the Estate Planning Hall of Fame and has received multiple national writing awards from the American Bar Association, along with numerous teaching and research honors.
